We Are Working To Ensure Adequate Food Security In Nigeria – AFAN President

The national president of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN)  Architect Kabir Ibrahim has said that the country is not yet  food secured due to so many challenges affecting national agricultural production despite the efforts being made by the present administration in promoting food production since inception.

He made this disclosure during this year's World Food Day, where he assured that, "we are working selflessly to ensure that Nigeria becomes sufficient on food production in different channels especially when the Buhari administration is providing all the necessary support that is meant for agricultural transformation in this country".

Architect Kabir Ibrahim noted that agriculture is facing so many challenges in Nigeria like the issue of insecurity which comprises banditry, kidnapping, drought in some areas and lack of implementation of many important policies that are very vital in the successful food production targets which must be looked into.

The national president reassured that AFAN would continue to ensure that Nigeria becomes exemplary in food security by adopting all the relevant research findings and create more channels that are readily  available in bridging the gap between the Nigerian farmers, the research services and the federal government to facilitate massive food production.
