President General of Nigeria Football Supporters Club, Dr. Rafiu Oladipo has continued to add more feathers to his cap following the recent Pan African Exemplary Leadership Award of Excellence bestowed on him by the West African Students’ Union Parliament (WASUP).
Presenting the award to him, Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, Hon. Mathew Paul who was accompanied by the Nigerian coordinator, Hon Yakubu Nurudeen and other top officials described Oladipo as one man who has in more than 40 years, galvanized the club to attain world recognition noting that the history of Nigerian football will not be complete without mentioning him.
He explained that the award is only given to individuals whose lives exemplify the ideal of living for the sake of others , those who dedicate themselves to the practice which provided African moral values, strong family life, having Pan African identity, a respected public officer with evidence of establishment of culture and peace transcending race, national, regional, global and religious barriers.
According to him, OLadipo was considered worthy for the award because he is an icon of nation building who have through his activities touched the lives of others even as he stated that the Parliament also organizes programmes in various Institutions of Higher Learning to campaign against cultism, examination malpractices, drug abuse and have recently embarked on distribution of hand sanitizers and face masks to indigent Africans to fight COVID-19 pandemic.
In his response, Dr. OLadipo who also doubles as President of Nigeria Boxing Board of Control (NBB of C) described the award as a great honour saying; that it will spur him to continue helping humanity and developing the youths.
He however advised the youths to shun such acts capable of tarnishing their image charging them to always be positive , develop their talents and be useful citizens of the country.
