Nigeria’s COVID-19 Update: 113 New Cases, Total 61,307

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reported there were 113 new cases of Novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in thirteen states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja on Saturday.

The affected places are: Lagos 37, Kaduna 16, Ogun 11, Plateau 11, Taraba 8, Rivers 7, FCT 6, Enugu 4, Niger 4, Edo 3, Delta 2, Imo 2, Benue 1 and Kano 1.

As of 11.39 p.m. on Saturday 17th October 2020, Nigeria had recorded a total of 61,307 confirmed cases of COVID-19 pandemic since the index case was detected in the country.

Out of the total, 56,557 COVID-19-infected people had been treated and discharged from Nigeria’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while1,123 persons had been killed by the virus in the nation during the period under review, according to NCDC.

“Our discharges today include 4,161 community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with new case management guidelines,” the disease control organ of the Federal Republic of Nigeria said.
