The Acting Plateau State Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Neighborhood Watch, Umar Muhammad Adam has explained the rationale behind the establishment of the outpost station in the troubled parts of the metropolis.
Speaking during the recent commissioning of the office in Rikkos, the image maker for the neighborhood watch sàid the office would help greatly in their operations.
According to him, the outpost which wàs solely initiated by the members would be a meeting point for the neighborhood watch.
” This office will provide a better place for us in the neighborhood. This will no doubt help in complementing the government’s efforts in restoring lasting peace in the state,” he stressed.
He called on all stakeholders in the state to encourage the activities of Neighborhood Watch aimed at creating peaceful coexistence among the people.
According to him, people in the area and the state government under the administration of Simon Bako Lalong are committed to the restoration of peace.
He said the outpost will no doubt boost their operations, as according to him, “The people of the area càn now sleep with their eyes closed.”
