el-Rufai Approves School For Gifted, Talented Children In Kaduna

Governor Nasir el-Rufai has approved the establishment of school for gifted and talented children in the 2021/2022 academic season in the state.
The school which is situated in Danbuchia in Chikun Local Government Area of the state has already started construction of structures work.
The state Commissioner for education, Dr. Shehu Usman Muhammad, while declaring a one-day meeting open for Career Guidance and Counselling for existing female graduates from vocational and technical schools in Kaduna organized by Development Research and Project Centre (DRPC), said the school would start with 300 students.
He explained that gifted and talented children in all the various communities in the state would be carefully selected and will be taught by special teachers in a good enabling environment so that they will grow at the level God has given to them.
He noted following the special attention governor El-Rufai-led administration place on the girl-child education, a special technical school would be constructed for the girls in the state so that the state would compete favourably with any other girls in the world.
He assured that the state government was doing all it could to ensure balance in the boys and girls enrolment in schools in the state, stressing that everything is being done to encourage the girl-child education in the state.
The Monitoring and Evaluation officer of the Department Research and Project Centre, DRPC, Mr. Hosea Bako, explained that the motive of the one day programme is for graduating students for career guidance and counselling is intended to educate the girls of the importance of career guidance and counselling.
He added that the programme was aimed at coaching  on the path of the girls to be self reliance, during and and after school.
Some of the participants expressed great enthusiasm and desire to acquiring technical and vocational skills as the pragmatic path to self reliance and rapid economic development in the country.
