Former Jigawa Speaker Dies At 55



The  death has occured of a former Speaker of the, Jigawa State House of Assembly’, Hon. Saidu Iliyasu Dundubus. 

Aged 55, Dundubus died at Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital Shika Zaria after a protracted illness.

Already the deceased has been buried at his country home town Dundubus in Dutse Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

His death came barely six months after the demise of another  former Speaker Jigawa House of Assembly’, Hon. Adamu Ahmed Atmos, whom he succeeded.

Dundubus headed Jigawa Assembly as itts Speaker from 1999-2003, a very powerful Speaker the state ever had, due to his principles and ideology which led to his impeachment after he declared former Governor Saminu Turaki wanted and asked him to return back to the state or face impeachment due to his unusual absence  for over two months.

Shortly after his speakership, pate Dundubus served during Sule Lamido-led PDP administration as council’s secretary of Dutse Municipal, Special Adviser to the Governor, and House of Assembly aspirant in the 2019 general elections.
