The Zamfara State Government has commenced deliberations on revival of State Livestock Investigation and Breeding Center (LIBC) Kwatarkwashi and other poultry units located in the state.
Speaking in Gusau at the inaugural meeting on the revival of the centres, the State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Ibrahim Jibo Magayaki assured that the centers will soon start operation.
Magayaki said that Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle has given a go ahead for the immediate kick-starting of reactivation work on the centers in Kwatarkwashi and other poultry units located across the state.
He said the measure is part of the the state government’s efforts to enhance employment opportunities and revenue generation.
“This is one of the strategies of the state present administration’s in the state led by governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle to diversify its source of revenue generation,” he said.
The Commissioner said that the meeting was aimed at examining workable modalities for putting the centers into usage.
“We hope that the centers if fully reactivated expected to boost the state economic sector of the state,” he added.
Magayaki urged government officials charged with the responsibilities to work up to expectation.
The meeting has in attendance, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alhaji Kabiru Muhammad Gayari and officials of State Directorate of Animal Health and Livestock Development and officials Zamfara Social Protection Platform (ZSPP).
