Managing Director of Jubilee Syringe Manufacturing (JSM), Mr. Akin Oyediran has said that the company will begin shipping its product to West African countries, just as it has already secured Ghana Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) approval.
Oyediran disclosed this when he received in his office, Mr. Pat Ifon, a member representing Eket/Esit Eket/Ibeno/Onna federal constituency who paid an unscheduled visit to the company in Awa, Onna Local Government over the weekend.
The MD explained that the products would be routed from Lagos to Accra by sea and the rest of the countries will be by truck from Ghana.
He said that JSM has become a global acceptable brand for its satisfactory quality production and branding.
“Jubilee syringe is the best quality syringe in the Nigerian market right now”
“We produce about 1million syringes daily, while the other competitor produces about 90,000, so there is no much competition”, he said.
The MD stated that the company was working rigorously to ensure that they receive the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) endorsement, which will be an added advantage to the brand in global market.
“The NMA has gone through our quality assurance and the factory processes. I believe they are satisfied, so we are awaiting their approval” – Oyediraan added.
On community relationship, The Managing Director noted that the little issues with the community occurred due to the misunderstanding of the MOU, of which he said was done with so much inexperience and in a hurry.
He called on the review of the MOU, of which he noted that the review board had been constituted and Chaired by Pst. Essien Thomas Etuk, who was also present during the visitation.
Oyediran urged the community to look beyond job opportunities and should develop and encourage local distributors, noting that it is more financially rewarding to participate in the process than struggling for meager as the payroll of the entire employees is less than 10% of the company’s annual revenue.
Reacting on the visitation, Oyediran said he was pleased to have the Honourable member in the facility to be familiar with what the company is doing.
Oyediran narrated that from the product quality assurance and branding, some people mistake the JSM product to come from Europe or Germany, not really looking at the labels to know it is a made in Akwa Ibom product.
Meanwhile, Mr. Pat Ifon has said that Governor Emmanuel’s investment in syringe production spoke volume of the Governor’s wizardry in identifying viable institutions that will blossom the state economy.
Ifon stated that he made the stopover at the facility after seeing the Jubilee syringe in H-Medix Stores in Abuja and the further recommendations by the pharmaceutical company.
He noted that H-Medix is a renowned and reliable pharmaceutical company in Nigeria and any product found there is believed to have creditably satisfied quality assurance and brand specifications.
“I came here to also be a witness to this viable investment that is gradually taking the center stage in syringe production after seeing your products at H-Medix stores in Abuja”
“I also came to encourage your efforts in building trust and reliability through brand performance in a little time frame and to see if there is a way we in the legislature can help the company grow”, Ifon added.
The member of the House of Representatives maintained that JSM is one investment made by the Governor, which has in a short period of time gained global acceptability with huge returns on investment.
“This investment I must say is a gold mine” he maintained.
