Police In Bauchi Flush Out Criminals From Bura Forest

Operatives of the Bauchi Police Command have arrested a gang of hoodlums that specializes in kidnapping innocent citizens for ransom and armed robbery operating in Lame/Bura forests of Toro/Ningi local government areas of the state.

The Command Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Mohammed Ahmed Wakil said in a statement in Bauchi State that the hoodlums were arrested following a tip-off by the police operatives in the areas.

The Bauchi Police Command has earlier on 22/09/2020 received a report that some unknown armed men stormed the house of one Alh. Shano of Dabar Baga village in Ningi LGA where they kidnapped his two daughters namely Aisha Alh. Shano (10yrs) and Hauwa Alh. Shano (11yrs) 11yrs.

The hoodlums during their operation were also said to have carted away with Alh. Shano’s new Bajaj motorcycle valued at N250, 000 and his nokia handset valued N7, 000 to an unknown destination.

“On receipt of the report, a team of policemen were drafted to the scene where one empty shell of single barrel was recovered at the scene. Also on 28/09/2020, same hoodlums came back and kidnapped their father Alh. Shano, thereafter collected the sum of two (2) million naira (N2, 000, 0000) as ransom”.

DSP Mohammed Wakil gave names of the arrested suspects as Shehu Bello (25yrs), Isah Alh. Ilya (20yrs), Ado Ahmadu (28yrs), Kabiru Alh. Bello (37yrs) and Rabiu Mani (37yrs).

The PPRO said however that efforts are being intensified by the command’s operatives to arrest three fleeing suspects namely Gambo Maikudi, Ibrahim Ubale and Abdulaziz Alh. Tasiu now at large.

The Force public relations officer explained that the three fleeing suspects have specialized in Armed Robbery, Culpable Homicide and unlawful possession of firearm.
