Ahead of the Bauchi State Local Government elections slated for October 17, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Danlami Garba Abubakar has vowed that his party will demonstrate its popularity at the polls.
Hon. Danlami Abubakar, a former chairman of Toro Local Government Council in the state, said that APC has produced popular candidates to the elections to confront those of the ruling PDP in the contest.
“Now that Bauchi is at the verge of Local Government elections, the APC being the major opposition political party in the state has vowed to salvage the down-trodden electorate from the captivity of the PDP-led Bauchi state government”, he stated.
According to him, the PDP has since lost popularity and integrity in the eyes of the impoverished Bauchi populace due to poor leadership style and incessant unpopular policies and programmes.
Danlami submitted, “It is now evidently crystal clear to even a blind the APC imminent return to power in Bauchi state as forthcoming councils’ polls will be a litmus test to the 2023 general elections”.
The former council chairman then commended the efforts of the Education Minister, Mallam Adamu Adamu in uniting APC members and addressing some of its problems with a view to strengthening the party ahead of next elections.
He described the minister as a unifying figure of the party being its leader in the state, stressing that Adamu Adamu has put up several efforts to maintain decorum and ensure unity in the party at both state and national levels.
