Nigeria’s COVID-19 Update: 118 New Cases, Total 59,583

Fourteen states of Nigeria, without the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, contracted 118 new cases of Novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Tuesday.


The names of COVID-19-infested states are: Lagos 41, Rivers 19, Osun 17, Nasarawa 13, Kaduna 5, Anambra 5, Edo 3, Ogun 3, Kwara 3, Ondo 3, Katsina 2, Niger 2, Plateau 1 and Akwa Ibom 1.

Information released by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) yesterday disclosed that as of 11.23 p. m. on Tuesday 6th October 2020, Nigeria had had a total of 59,583 confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the index case was reported in the country.


Out of the total, 51,308 patients who tested positive for the worldwide virus had been treated and discharged from the country’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while the pandemic had killed 1,113 in the nation. 

No person died of COVID-19 in Nigeria on Tuesday.
