Economic diversification: Zamfara to revive livestock centres to promote agribusinesses

Zamfara State Governor, Dr Bello Mohammed Matawalle has given matching order for the revival and improvement of Livestock Investigation and Breeding Center (LIBC) located in Kotorkoshi in Bungudu Local Government Area of the state.
This was disclosed by the state Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Ibrahim Jibo Magayaki when he led a team to the centre on a fact finding visit.
The commissioner said the order was part of governor Matawalle’s strategic drive for economic diversification aimed at shifting weight from large dependence on oil to non-oil sectors of the economy.
Magayaki assured that if the properly utilized,it will equally attract tourism which can boost the state economy, in addition to mining in solid minerals which the state is well known for.
It will be recalled that the reeding centre in Kotorkoshi is one of the four centers owned by the Zamfara state government, the other three centers are located in Gusau, Mada and Gidan Jaja.
