Nigeria reported 58 new cases of Novel CoronaVirus disease (COVID-19) in eight of its thirty-six states and the Federal Capital Territory FCT Abuja on Sunday – an indication of continuous decline in both cases and number of states infected by the pandemic.
With 18 cases Plateau had the highest number of new cases on Sunday, followed by Lagos 15.
Others are: Katsina 10, Ogun 5, Kaduna 4, Edo 3, Ekiti 1, FCT 1 and Ondo 1.
In its daily account of the occurrence of the worldwide virus in the country, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reported that as of 11.13 p.m. on Sunday 4th October 2020, Nigeria had recorded a total of 59,345 confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the index case occurred in the nation.
Out of the total, 50,768 patients suffering from the disease had been treated and discharged from Nigeria’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while 1,113 deaths arising from the pandemic had been reported in the country during the period under review. No person was killed by the virus in the country yesterday.
