Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State has canvassed support for the Hajj Saving Scheme that was initiated by National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) in partnership with Jaiz Bank which was inaugurated on Sunday at Kano Hajj Camp.
He said that the scheme which is first of it’s kind, would receive boost in Kano and in the country at large.
He commended NAHCON for choosing Kano for the launch of the savings scheme, and thanked Jaiz Bank for collaborating with NAHCON in initiating the programme to safeguard the people’s savings meant for Hajj operations.
The governor however, charged Kano citizens to embrace the newly introduced saving scheme which is planned to serve as a channel to save for Hajj and reiterated his government’s determination towards the progress of all Hajj related programmes in Kano State.
In his remarks, the NAHCON chairman, Zikrullah Kunle Hassan announced that the saving scheme if fully implemented, would enable the Muslim umma perform Hajj with ease because they pay their fares through savings which is an initiative they can be proud of.
He thanked the Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and the state’s pilgrims walfare board secretary for facilitating a successful inauguration.
The representative of the Sultan of Sokoto who is the Emir of Bichi, announced his gratitude to NAHCON and Jaiz Bank for collaborating together in bringing out an excellent programme that would ease the payment of Hajj fares for intending pilgrims, and assured that the traditional ruling class would give the saving scheme their total support.
Thanking those who graced the colourful ceremony, the executive secretary, Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Mohammed Abba Dambatta disclosed that the scheme would be successful in Kano and other states in Nigeria because the Kano State Governor has given all the support towards the successful take off of the Hajj Saving sycheme which is a commendable effort.
He commended NAHCON national chairman, Zikrullah Kunle Hassan and his team for making the inauguration of the scheme in Kano a reality and reassured that ” this programme would hit everywhere and I am of the opinion that the scheme would enable the people to pay their Hajj fares with ease and we are happy that this saving scheme would receive good recognition”. He emphasized.
