Nigeria’s COVID-19 Update: 160 New Cases, Total 59,287

In Nigeria, Rivers State had the highest number of Novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases detected in twelve states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja on Saturday.

The following areas were attacked by the pandemic: Rivers 42, Lagos 32, Plateau 21, FCT 18, Kaduna 14, Ogun 11, Katsina 10, Kwara 3, Ondo 3, Imo 3, Anambra 1, Abia 1 and Oyo 1.

As of 11.10 p.m. on Saturday 3rd October 2020 Nigeria has had a total of 59,287 confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the index case was reported in the country, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reported on its twitter account.

It said that out of the total, 50,718 who tested positive for the worldwide virus had been treated and discharged from Nigeria’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while 1,113 patients had died of the disease in the nation within the period under review.
