The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC), on Saturday announced that it has suspended the new electricity tarrif and reverted to the old tarrif .

IBEDC made this known in a statement signed its Head, Branding and Corporate Communications, Angela Olanrewaju in Ibadan.

The statement titled ‘Notice of suspension of the Service Reflective Tariff (SRT),’ stressed that the action was in line with the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission’s order on the suspension of the Service Reflective Tariff (SRT).

“IBEDC has complied with the directive and reverted to the old tariff as of Aug. 31, 2020.A As such, tokens purchased for prepaid customers will be based on the old tariff rates and the next billing cycle for postpaid customers will equally reflect the same. Thank you for your continuous support and understanding,” Olanrewaju said.

It would be recalled that last week, Kaduna Electric announced suspension of the new tariff.
