Nigeria’s COVID-19 Update: 153 New Cases, Total 59,001

People in thirteen states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja contracted 153 new cases of Novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Thursday.

Lagos led in the number of infections with 81cases. Others are: Rivers 21, FCT 11, Ogun 8, Kaduna 7, Oyo 6, Akwa Ibom 5, Osun 3, Katsina 3, Edo 2, Ebonyi 2, Nasarawa 2, Plateau 1 and Kano 1.

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced on its twitter platform that as of 11.12 p.m. on Thursday 1st October 2020 Nigeria had recorded a total of 59,001 confirmed cases of COVID-19 pandemic since the index case occurred in the nation.

Out of the total, 50,452 COVID-19-positive persons had been treated and discharged from the country’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while 1,112 people had been killed in the country by the worldwide virus, NCDC reported on Thursday.
