The National Democratic Support Group (NDSG) has advised the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to cancel its planned nationwide strike and continue negotiations with the federal government especially at this time when the nations are facing economic challenges across the globe.
In a statement signed and issued to New Nigerian in Kano by the group's Chairman, Alhaji Dauda Muhammad Ali, they said that, "embarking on strike at this time would fuel another hardship on this country especially at present when the citizens are struggling for survival".
NSDG added that the Nigeria Labour Congress should rather focus on talks with labour ministry in order to find a lasting solution to the ongoing tussle between the workers unions and the federal government on different issues.
They called on the Nigeria's citizens to remain law abiding for peace to reign in the country.
It would be recalled that the Nigeria Labour Congress has announced plans to embark on an indefinite strike starting from Monday September 28 in protest of the fuel increase in the country.
