Nigeria’s COVID-19 Update: 97 New Cases, Total 57,242

Federal Republic of Nigeria (FRN) reported that it recorded 97 new cases of Novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in eleven of its 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory FCT (Abuja) on Sunday.
Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) wrote on its twitter handle on Sunday that the following areas were infected by the pandemic: Lagos 46, Kwara 12, Rivers 11, Adamawa 4, Niger 4, Ogun 4, Osun 4, Ekiti 3, Imo 3, Kaduna 3, Plateau 2 and FCT 1.

As of 11.25 p.m. on Sunday 20th September 2020, Nigeria had been infected with a total of 57,242 confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the index case was reported in the country.

Out of the total, 48,569 COVID-19-positive patients had been treated and discharged from the nation’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while 1,098 deaths caused by the worldwide virus had been recorded in the country, NCDC said.
