Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Kaduna State on behalf of all its affiliates union and workers has received the death of his Royal Highness, Alhaji Dr. Shehu Idris the Emir of Zazzau and Chairman of Kaduna State Council of Chiefs, with shock but with total submission to the will of Allah, who died on Sunday at the age of 84.
In a press release signed by the Chairperson of the Council, Comrade Ayuba Magaji Suleiman condoled Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir Ahmed el-Rufai, his cabinet, the entire Zazzau Emirate Council, state traditional institution, his immediate family and the people of the state.
Comrade Ayuba Magaji Suleiman described late Emir of Zazzau, Dr. Shehu Idris as a pillar who played a positive fatherly role most especially to the union and the state workers.
He described him as a leader not a ruler, a peace maker, bridge builder, committed and dedicated leader who served humanity for forty five years in peace with his people and governments.
The Chairperson of the Congress lamented that as the Nigeria Labour Congress mourns the loss of the longest serving traditional leader in Kaduna State, it prayed that Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him highest place in paradise.
In another development, the Nigeria Labour Congress commended Kaduna State Government for declaring Wednesday this week as public holiday in his honour.
