Nigeria’s Daily COVID-19 Cases Shoot Up To 221, Total 56,956

In Nigeria, Novel CoronaVirus disease (COVID-19) infected people in seventeen states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja on Friday.

 
The pandemic was detected in the the following areas: Lagos 59, Abia 46, FCT 22, Gombe 20, Plateau 17, Rivers 11, Bauchi 7, Benue 6, Ekiti 6, Imo 6, Kaduna 4, Kwara 4, Ondo 4, Ogun 3, Osun 3, Bayelsa 1, Edo 1 and Kano 1.

NCDC reported on its twitter account yesterday that as of Friday 18th September 2020 Nigeria had recorded a total of 56,956 confirmed cases of COVID-19 pandemic since the index case occurred in the nation.

Out of the total, 48,305 COVID-19-infected patients had been treated and discharged from Nigeria’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while the worldwide disease had killed 1,094 people in the country.

“Our discharges today include 100 community recoveries managed in Oyo State in line with new case management guidelines,” the disease control agency clarified.
