The Iba of Kishi town in Oyo State, Oba Moshood Oyekola Lawal on Thursday hinted that local vigilante and security agents have subdued the suspected terrorists that recently stormed the game forest in the ancient town
The royal father stated this while allaying the fears of the people of the town over the presence of the suspected terrorists in the game forest.
According to Oba Lawal, the local vigilante members and security agents have successfully dislodged the suspected terrorists from the game forest, saying, with the present situation on ground, there was no basis for people in the town to panic.
The royal father maintained that the joint efforts of local vigilante and security operatives led by the Nigerian Army have successfully dislodged the suspected terrorists from the forest reserve after engaging them in crossfire during which they were overpowered.
The Iba of Kisi stressed that the joint task force did not record any casualty during the crossfire, saying, “there is no cause for hypertensive fear. Our local vigilantes are wonderful and as I am writing now, they have pushed them to Igboho route and some soldiers have joined the forces”.
“Honestly, the bandits struck through Agboola farm, and after intensive crossfire they were forced out from that axis. No death casualty from the side of our dwellers. We shall be on top of it. Necessary steps have equally been taken’. he said.
Oba Lawal added, “we need to apply caution and not paint our ancestral home as land of terror to the outside world. We shall in-sha-Allah be victorious on all internal and external aggressors.”
New Nigerian recalls that the Aare Ona kakanfo, Iba Gani Adams few days ago alerted of the presence of suspected terrorists in the Kisi forest allegedly attacking and kidnapping residents of the area.
