Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has said that seventeen states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja were infected with 131 new cases of Novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Thursday.
Here are the names of the places NCDC detected the virus: Lagos 45, Kaduna 17, Plateau 17, FCT 16, Delta 6, Niger 6, Kwara 5, Oyo 3, Akwa Ibom 2, Cross River 2, Ekiti 2, Enugu 2, Osun 2, Sokoto 2, Bauchi 1, Ebonyi 1, Katsina 1 and Rivers 1.
NCDC announced on its twitter platform that as of 11 20 p.m. on Thursday 17th September 2020, the Federal Republic of Nigeria (FRN) had reported a total of 56,735 cases of the worldwide disease since the index case occurred in the country.
According to the disease control agency, out of the total, 48,092 people who tested positive for the pandemic had been treated and discharged from Nigeria’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while 1,093 persons had been killed by the disease during the period under review.
