Police operatives attached to the Zone 2 Command headquarters, Onikan Lagos have recovered several property including cars and land from a fraudster who scammed a United States based Nigerian lady.
The recovered items include four Sienna Space buses, a Toyota Highlander SUV Jeep, a landed property comprising a storey building, an undeveloped plot of land both on Apo area of Abuja and another two plots in Wuse area of Abuja.
The AIG Zone 2 Command Iliyasu Ahmed made the disclosure at a news conference Wednesday in Lagos.
He added that others items yet to be recovered from the suspected fraudster include a Mikano Generating set, two duplexes in South Africa, the sum of $15, 000 US Dollars he fraudulently obtained from the victim to procure her sister a visa, another &10,000 US Dollars to purchase carpets for an office they both agreed to operate and N40 million for the establishment of a medical laboratory.
The suspected fraudster, identified as Sylvester Ehiarinmian, 43, was said to have perpetrated the act while serving as a security guard to the America returnee on her farm in Abuja.
Ahmed hinted that the suspect was arrested by operatives of the Zonal Tactical/ Monitoring Unit which he deployed following a complaint by the victim.
While narrating how the victim was defrauded, the AIG said ” This is a case of a United States- based Nigerian lady who has a vision of setting up a business back home. She managed to own a farm in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. Precariously, she was introduced to this fraudlent man, Sylvester Ehiarinmian,43, as capable of providing her with security to and from the farm.
Lo and behold, Sylvester made a love advance to her,despite being married with children and promised marrying her. Naively, the lady swung into the fraudulent Sylvester’s net and was Defrauded neatly. When the lid was blown out her eyes, the lady forwarded a petition to my office”.
