Nigeria’s COVID-19 Update: 126 New Cases, Total 56,604

Sixteen states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja recorded 126 new cases of Novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Wednesday.

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said the names of the places were the worldwide virus were found Wednesday are: FCT 37, Lagos 27, Plateau 16, Kaduna 9, Abia 7, Gombe 6, Ondo 6, Imo 5, Delta 2, Ekiti 2, Kwara 2, Bauchi 1, Kano 1, Katsina 1, Ogun 1 and Yobe 1.

NCDC wrote on its twitter account that as of 11.30 p.m. on Wednesday 16th September 2020 Nigeria had reported a total of 56,604 confirmed cases of COVID-19 pandemic since the index case was discovered in the country.

Out of the total, 47,872 people who had the disease had been treated and discharged from the country’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while 1,091 persons had died of the pandemic in the country within the period under review.

“Our discharges today include 2,967 community recoveries in FCT and 103 community recoveries in Kwara State managed in line with new case management guidelines,” the Nigerian disease control agency announced in the COVID-19 update data.
