Border Closure Boosts Domestic Rice Production -Dankano Mill Boss



The chairman of  Dankano Rice Mill Gezawa, Alhaji Ali Abdu Gezawa has said that domestic rice production is boosting as a result of border closure, where Nigerian  farmers  are able to produce produce high quality domestic rice that can be exported to other countries.

He made the remarks in an interview with our correspondent at Dankano Rice Mill in Gezawa town, adding that, “some people are blaming President Muhammadu Buhari for closing our borders simply because they don’t know the impact of border closure, but in the near future, Nigerians  would understand that the border closure is aimed at improving domestic production and economic progress as seen in other developed nations”.

Ali Abdu Gezawa gave an example that domestic rice is now shining in markets because it now being processed and parboiled in rice mills to meet the national and international standards especially at present when the federal government is now facilitating domestic production of many crops value chains as seen at both dry and rainy seasons.

Commenting on Dankano Rice Mill, the chairman assured that the company would continue to provide excellent rice that is healthy and ready made for consumption as well as for export to other countries because the factory has all the facilities on ground to meet the public expectations.
