Nigeria’s COVID-19 Cases Decline, 79 New Cases Recorded, Total 56,256

Information from Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) showed that Nigeria’s daily cases of Novel CoronaVirus disease (COVID-19) has continued to decline in both number of new cases and infected states.


In its latest update, the Centre reported that the country recorded 79 cases in twelve states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja on Sunday.

A list released by NCDC bore the following names of COVID-19 infected places: Lagos 30, Kaduna 17, Ogun 7, Anambra 5, Kano 4, Katsina 3, FCT 3, Akwa Ibom 3, Oyo 2, Rivers 2, Delta 1, Plateau 1 and Ondo 1.

NCDC wrote on its twitter platform that as of 11.11 p.m. on Sunday 13th September 2020, the Federal Republic of Nigeria (FRN) had had a total of 56,256 confirmed cases of COVID-19 pandemic since the index case was reported in the nation.

Out of the total, 44,152 people infected by the disease had been treated and discharged from Nigeria’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while 1,082 persons had been killed in the country by the worldwide virus.
