Cement Seller Arrested As Fake Amotekun Recruitment Officer In Oyo State

Nemesis caught up with a middle-aged man, identified as Kareem Isiaka Taiwo  on Monday morning was arrested for parading himself as the recruitment officer for operation Amotekun in Oyo State.
New Nigerian gathered that the middle aged man had on Sunday pasted a notice at the Lekan Salami Stadium Adamasingba venue of the recruitment and screening center with his name and phone numbers asking those interested in joining Amotekun Corps to contact him.
Sources said the management of operation Amotekun having sighted  the notice embarked on trailing of the middle aged man after which  apprehended on Monday morning at 11:45 am and was handed over to the security agents for prosecution.
The middle aged man who claimed to be selling bags of cements said he was tempted by devil to resolve into the act.
Isiaka claimed that only one person has so far contacted him for enrollment into operation Amotekun through his number.
Speaking, the Chairman of the Oyo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun Corps), Gen. Kunle Toogun (Rtd.) cautioned the people of Oyo state  against falling into the hands of fraudsters in their quest to become members of the corps.
According to General Togun (rtd)  screening of applicants into the corps would continue as the exercise had just covered only the Ibadan city axis, adding that “those that missed their screening have been called to join others for their fresh screening”.
“This will easily pave way for equal participation, although we have encountered so many challenges since we started, some came with forged certificates and documents, you have seen the one that just happened, but we are unrelenting” he said.
General Togun, (rtd), added, “the screening will continue with the less cities, the Oke-Ogun zones one and two, Ido, Ibarapa among others, we want to make the exercise as open and less cumbersome to applicants as possible, the governor has demanded for openness and exactly that we are giving,”.
It will be recalled that the screening exercise for recruitment into Operation Amotekun commenced in the last one week at the Adamasingba stadium, where applicants tendered their certificates to show their readiness to work with the outfit.
