The new Assistant Comptroller General of Immigration (ACG) Zone “A” Lagos, ACG Doris Braimah has implored personnel of the Service to follow the template of the Comptroller General and rules of engagement in the discharge of their duties.
Braimah, who gave the charge Friday in her inaugural speech while assuming office, asserted that doing so will make them add value to the service.
She noted that Babandede’s record is rich, as he continues to come up with innovations to move the service forward every moment.
The new Zone “A” ACG also commended the Comptroller General of Immigration for the several innovations he brought to the service and for making NIS technology driven organisation.
Braimah also advised officers and men of the service to key into the vision and mission of NIS since they are all aware of it, adding that by doing so the agency can move to a greater height.
She equally lauded his predecessor, saying that the former ACG has done very well and that she as the new ACG will continue from where he stopped.
In his speech, the outgoing Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) Immigration Mohammed Alfa advised men and officers in the Command to always be committed to the duties assigned to them.
In his valedictory speech shortly after inspecting a Guard of Honour mounted by officers of the Command at the Zone, Ikeja, Lagos, urged them to loyal to constituted authorities.
Alfa, who was very elated retiring after 35 years of meritorious service at NIS , said that he thanked God for making a day like this possible , adding that he has been waiting for this day to come.
He also commended the Comptroller General of NIS, Muhammed Babandede for not only giving him the opportunity to serve but also for introducing innovations into the service, adding that the CG has always been a source of courage to him.
“Today is a special day. I have been waiting for a day like this.. I have every reason to give thanks to God. The fact that I am standing and speaking to you is enough to thank God.
“NIS has given me opportunity to grow, has trained me and by the special grace of God I will give thanks to God.
“I want to give thanks to the Comptroller General of Immigration, Muhammadu Babandede. He has been my mentor, source of courage and source of pride,” he said.
He urged men and officers in the Zone to cooperate with the new ACG to further move the Zone forward.
Alfa prayed that by the grace of God those who sat for the promotion examination will come out in flying colours and further make the Zone proud.
