Seven suspected internet fraudsters were on Wednesday arrested in Ibadan by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan zonal office.
The 7 suspected internet fraudsters according to a statement made available to journalists in Ibadan included Two pairs of brothers identified as Ayoola Timilehin, Olusola Timilehin, and Oladayo Fayemi, Tolulope Fayemi.
According to a statement signed by the EFCC Head, Media & Publicity, Dele Oyewale, the other three suspects arrested by the commission are Temitope Kumuyi, Babatunde Oyelakin and Olanrewaju Ibrahim, all between 20 and 30 years age range.
Oyewale stressed that the7 suspected fraudsters were arrested at their hide out on at Alaka, Elebu area of Ibadan, Oyo State.
EFCC stated that the suspects were arrested based on intelligence linking them with opulence without any identifiable means of livelihood.
The commission gave items recovered from the suspects as four cars, laptops, exotic phones and a stamp bearing the identity of the bursary section of Queensland University’s School of Medicine, Australia and that the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
