COVID-19 Update: Plateau Tops Daily Tally As Nigeria Records 296 New Cases, Total 55,456

Fourteen states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja of Nigeria had 296 Novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infections on Tuesday.

The following are the names of the areas where the worldwide disease was detected by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC): Plateau 183, Lagos 33, FCT 25, Ogun 16, Oyo 7, Ekiti 6, Kwara 5, Kwara 5, Ondo 5, Anambra 3, Imo 3, Nasarawa 3, Rivers 2, Gombe 2, Edo 2 and Akwa Ibom 1.

As of 11.25 p.m. on Tuesday 8th September 2020, the Federal Republic of Nigeria (FRN) had reported a total of 55,456 confirmed cases of COVID-19 pandemic since the index case was found in the nation.


NCDC wrote on its twitter handle that out of the total, 43,334 patients had been treated of the global virus and discharged from the country’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while 1,067 deaths of COVID-19-positive people were recorded by the country’s disease control agency.
