The new Galadima of Damaturu Emirate, Baba Hassan Yusuf was on Sunday presented with appointment letter from Emir of Damaturu, Alhaji Shehu Hashimu II Ibn Umar El-Kanemi.
New Nigerian Newspaper reports that, immediately after receiving the appointment letter, the new Galadima and his entourage paid homage to His Royal Highness, Emir of Damaturu at his palace.
It would be recalled that, Khalifa Hassan Yusuf was the Galadima of Damaturu Emirate Council before his demise.
Against this development, the Emir of Damaturu Alhaji Shehu Hashimu II Ibn Umar El-Kanemi decided to honour the late Galadima Khalifa Hassan Yusuf by appointing his eldest son, Alhaji Baba Hassan Yusuf as the new Galadima of Damaturu Emirate Council.
Speaking during the thank you homage, the Emir of Damaturu, Alhaji Shehu Hashimu II Ibn Umar El-Kanemi said, considering the contributions of the late Galadima Khalifa Hassan Yusuf, the Emirate Council decided to honour him by appointing his son to succeed his father and advised him to play the role of late Galadima for the development of the Emirate and the state as a whole.
Responding, the new Galadima of Damaturu, Baba Hassan Yusuf expressed appreciation for the honour and promised to justify the confidence reposed on him for the development of the Emirate and the state at large.
Commenting, younger brother to the new Galadima and former Majority Leader, Yobe State House of Assembly, Alhaji Nasiru Hassan Yusuf thanked the Emir for honouring the family.
Also contributing, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Alhaji Muhammad Abatcha Gaidam thanked all that graced the occasion and prayed for their safe return to their destinations.
