The Chairman All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) Kaduna State, Alh. Nuhu Aminu has appealed to Kaduna State Government to come to the aid of the farmers in the state whose farmlands was washed away by flooding.
Nuhu made the appeal when he visited Galma farming area to sympathise with the farmers who lost all their farms as a result of the last Friday and Saturday heavy rainfall in Zaria and environs.
He said the situation is very serious which needs the attention of the government towards assisting the affected farmers.
The State Chairman advised farmers not to lose hope as Allah in his own wisdom will compensate them in another way.
While quantifying the loss at Galma farm area, Alh. Nuhu Aminu said, more than 1,000 hectares of farms were washed away.
Some affected farmers who spoke about their situation said they were divastated by the flooding and called for urgent assistant as their hope is now hanging.
