HASSAN, Kano Dawanau International Grains Market Management Committee has purchased and provided working equipment to the market's watchmen in order to give them more courage towards enhancing security of lives and property in the market. This was disclosed by the committee chairman, Alhaji Sani Ahmed Kwa during an interaction with our correspondent at the market. He assured that the committee would continue to engage the watchmen with modern equipment especially at present when the market is growing everyday. Alhaji Sani Ahmed added that, "we are here as a committee to manage Dawanau Market and to provide conducive business atmosphere to enable the place to become more exemplary in economic and employment opportunities as an international market. "I am therefore, calling on the business communities, exporters, importers and other stakeholders to support our efforts," he concluded. Our correspondent who visited the market reports that the committee is expected to rehabilitate the market's motor park and the management committee office complex which is now being overtaken by flood, especially at this time when the market is set to commence bumper business.
In their separate comments, the traders and chapter chairmen of the market told New Nigerian that, " the committee under the leadership of Sani Ahmed Kwa is doing great towards the progress of the market to become a more conducive environment for business and commercial activities especially when the season of active farm produce transactions is drawing nearer".
