Nigerians have been called upon to give more co-operation and full support to the security agencies in order to ensure that the war against insurgency yields success at both rural and urban areas.
A member of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria in Kano, Muktar Abdullahi Ungogo made the plea in a chat with our correspondent, adding that with public support, many criminal activities would never happen because there is no room for the crimes.
He also advised the Nigerian security agencies to ensure that the identities of their informants are secret for their safety and secrecy like what is happening in the developed nations where the informants’ identity is secure.
Muktar Ungogo said that although there are some bad eggs in any organisation, the security agencies are trying their best in the fight against insurgency despite some challenges especially at present when the federal government and the state governors are winning the war.
The VGN member stressed that” the security of lives and property remain our task. It is important to help the security agencies to ensure that the war against insurgency is gaining more success because everybody has a task in the promotion of peace and unity in Nigeria.”
Muktar Ungogo called on the Northern governors to organise a peace mission conference in order to discuss issues related to the security, economy and peace in their respective states in order to ensure that the region becomes an exemplary place.
