*insists officers involved are from Federal Operations

The Oyo/Osun Area command Controller of the Nigerian Customs Service, (NCS) Mrs Uche Ngozi has tasked officers of the command to at all times discharge their duties in line with the rules of engagement.
Mrs Ngozi also insisted that the Customs officers involved in the shooting of a Chieftain of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Iseyin are not from the Oyo/Osun NCS command but from the Federal Operations.
According to a statement made available to journalists in Ibadan on Sunday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ACS Abiola Lagos Abdulahi the officers involved in the incident were from the Federal Operation Unit, zone A of Nigeria Custom Service.”Immediately the report of the incident reached us, the Controller of the command, Mrs Uche Ngozi directed the residential officers at Iseyin to quickly interven in other to restored normalcy around the area.We want to state it categorically that the officers involved in the incident were not from our command, they are officers from federal operation unit, zone A.”, he said
ACS Abdulahi added, “we are yet to come up with any official statement until when we are properly briefed about the incident, but for now, we want to cleared the air against the media reports that the officers involved were from our command.”
The Oyo/Osun NCS command spokesman stressed “we didn’t have problem with the people of Iseyin and Oyo State at large, so we are calling for harmonious relationship between us and the people, we also appreciates the efforts of the Nigeian Police towards ensuring that normalcy returns to the area”
He maintained that the Custom Controller frowned at having the casualty during the course of discharging duties by officers of the commamd, saying “the controller said all officers of the command should henceforth ensure that every they carried out their duties according to the rules of engagements.
“Iseyin people are good people whom have been cooperating with the Nigerian Custom Service, Oyo/Osun Area Command, its unfortunate that such incident happened between the custom and the motorists.”
