Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported that there were 354 new cases of CoronaVirus disease (COVID-19) in Nigeria on Thursday.
A list of seventeen places infected by the global pandemic yesterday showed the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja leading with 78 cases, Lagos 76, Kaduna 23, Ebonyi 19, Oyo 18, Nasarawa 17, Rivers 17, Delta 16, Kwara 15, Akwa Ibom 13, Edo 12, Ogun 12, Plateau 11, Kano 9, Bauchi 6, Borno 6 and Ekiti 6.
NCDC announced on its twitter platform that as of 11.32 p.m.on Thursday, 6th August 2020, the Federal Republic of Nigeria (FRN) has recorded a total of 45,244 confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the index case was detected in the country.
Out of the total, 32,430 people who tested positive for the worldwide pestilence had been treated and discharged from Nigeria’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while 930 persons who contracted the virus had died in the country, the Nigerian disease control agency said.
