Security situation in Katsina State is gradually returning to normalcy, Special Adviser to the state Government on Security, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmad Katsina has said.
Alhaji Ahmad Katsina said the desired result of dislodging the bandits from their hideouts by the combined efforts of the Military and other Security Forces gave hope to eople to go back to their normal lives.
Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmad who spoke to journalists on the current security operations in the state acknowledged with satisfaction in the restoration of gradual peace and security in the affected areas.
“We hope the tempo will be sustained so that sooner than expected Banditry will be a thing of the past in the state,” he emphasized.
He commended the efforts of the media for public enlightenment on the menace and danger of collaborating with or harbouring criminals.
Alhaji Ibrahim Katsina said in spite of the pockets of challenges to the security operations most of the affected communities have gradually gone back to their respective farms and normal activities.
He assured that, the remaining Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) would soon go back to their areas and continue their normal lives.
He charged members of the public to team up with the government and security forces towards sustainable peace, security and development rather than inducement to go into crime.
“People should continue to volunteer information on criminal hideouts; so that collectively we can defeat these criminals.
“They are very few. They should not be allowed to hibernate and disturb our peace and security,” Alhaji Ibrahim Katsina said.
He stressed that, criminality could be defeated through collaborative partnership between responsible members of the public, security forces and the government.
