CoronaVirus : Oyo State Records 2 COVID-19 Related Deaths, 23 New Positive Cases, Discharges 24 Patients

Governor Seyi Makinde on Thursday disclosed that Oyo State has recorded 2 more COVID-19 related deaths and 23 new CoronaVirus positive cases.
The governor in a COVID-19 update in Oyo state also declared that 24 CoronaVirus patients have been discharged by the state COVID-19 Task Force.
Engineer Makinde who is also the Chairman of Oyo state COVID – 19 Task Force stressed that the 23 new cases are from 9 of the 33 local government areas in the state.
“The COVID-19 confirmation tests for twenty-three suspected cases came back positive.  The cases are from Akinyele (7), Ido (5), Ibadan North (3), Egbeda (2), Lagelu (2), Ibadan South West (1), Ibadan North West (1), Oluyole (1) and Ona Ara (1) Local Government Areas”, he said.
Governor Makinde added, ” sadly, we had two COVID-19 related deaths in the state. So, the total number of deaths in Oyo state is thirty”.  The governor stressed further, ” Twenty-four confirmed COVID-19 cases received their second negative test results and have been discharged. This brings the number of discharged cases in Oyo State to 1420″. He however tasked those having any COVID-19 symptoms: cough, fever, tiredness, body ache, loss of smell/taste and shortness of breath to visit a community-based testing centre in their areas
