Nigeria’s COVID-19 Update, New Cases 304, Total 44,433

Nigeria has 304 new cases of Novel CoronaVirus disease (COVID-19) on Tuesday. The virus spread across eighteen states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.

A list released by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) yesterday showed that the following areas were infected by the global virus: FCT 90, Lagos 59, Ondo 39, Taraba 18, Rivers 17, Borno 25, Adamawa 12, Oyo 11, Delta 9, Edo 6, Bauchi 4, Kwara 4, Ogun 4, Osun 4, Bayelsa 3, Plateau 3, Niger 3, Nasarawa 2 and Kano 1.

NCDC announced on its twitter handle that as of 11.44 p.m. on Tuesday 4th August 2020 Nigeria has had a total of 44,433 confirmed cases of COVID-19 pandemic since the index case was recorded in the country.

According the disease control agency, out of the total figure, 31,851 persons who were infected by the disease had been treated and discharged from Nigeria’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while 910 people who tested positive for the virus had died in the country.
