Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, (SWAN), Akwa Ibom State chapter has felicitated with the Commissioner of Youth and Sports, Sir Monday Ebong Uko on his reappointment, describing it as historic.
The state governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel on Monday, August 3, re-shuffled his cabinet with eight new persons sworn-in and assigned portfolios.
Sir Monday Ebong Uko is among the commissioners who retained their offices while others were reassigned to new ministries.
SWAN in a letter of congratulations, signed by the Chapter Chairman, Comrade Emmanuel Akpan and Secretary, Comrade Theophilus Udo said, Sir Uko reappointment is a testimony of his commitment to the vision of Governor Emmanuel in not only developing sports but also creating wealth for sports talented youth in the state.
“Sir, your reappointment attests to the unmitigated and sacrificial contributions to the development of sports in the State, besides the enormous successes recorded during your tenure.
“As a critical stakeholder in the sports sector, SWAN has witnessed your untiring devotion, commitment, and at all times showcasing the interest of His Excellency, Gov. Udom Emmanuel in repositioning sports to the advantage and benefits of our gifted youths.
“We pray that your lofty plans to shore up the fortune of sports in the state will be accomplished as you return to the office despite the numerous challenges”, the statement stated.
SWAN also lauded the Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel for the confidence reposed in Sir Monday Ebong Uko’s abilities and pledged to be a reliable and dedicated partner in the promotion and development of sports in the state.
