Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi has extended his felicitation to the Emir, Dr. Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu on his 10-year anniversary on the esteemed throne of the Bauchi Emirate Council.
The Governor commended the emir whose reign and style of leadership which, he noted, have continued to sustain the peaceful co-existence among the diverse ethnic groups in the state.
He noted that being that being the chairman of Bauchi State Council of Chiefs, is an ambassador of peace in which his royalty and fatherly advices contributed immensely to the growth and development of Bauchi state.
Bala explained that the emir through his exemplary leadership has also succeeded in overcoming some of the challenges associated with the activities of traditional rulers in their respective domains.
A member of the Duguri royal family, the governor is fully aware of the important roles traditional rulers play in the maintenance of peace and security, saying as custodian of the culture and traditions of the people, the royal fathers assist the government in the implementation of its policies and programmes.
It is for this reason the governor assured that his administration will continue to uphold traditional institutions in the state, while according them at all times the high esteem, respect, support and cooperation to discharge their responsibilities without hindrance.
Governor Bala recalled that since the inception of the present administration in the state, government has been according the traditional rulers their due respect and cognizant of the significant roles they have been playing in the society.
He prays to the Almighty Allah for the emir’s good health, prosperity and wisdom for him to continue to lead his people to the right path.
Meanwhile, the Bauchi Chief Imam, Bala Ahmed Baban-Inna has expressed worrisome that state public workers are observing the Eid-el Kabir celebrations without July salaries been paid to them.
Imam Bala Ahmed, who was expressing disgust over the non-payment of workers’ salaries during Eid-el Kabir sermon, noted that only staff of local government councils that gets their monthly statutory allocations direct from PAAC enjoyed the July salaries.
The Chief Imam expressed concern that as a result of non-payment of salaries to the state workers, majority of them were unable to slaughter animals as sacrifice in fulfillment of the Eid-el Kabir rite exhibited by Prophet Abraham.
He therefore asked those opportune to slaughter animal to kindly share the meat with the less-privileged among them so that they could enjoy the annual festival.
Baban-Inna felicitated with the emir of Bauchi, Dr. Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu for celebrating his ten anniversary on the eve of Eid-Kabir, and asked people in the state to pray Allah to guide the emir throughout his reign.
