A Non Governmental Organization (NGO) known as Zamfara Youth Initiative (ZYI) has donated food items and clothes to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Maru and Bunguudu local government areas of the state.
Presenting the items under the Directorate for Charity and Empowerment of the association, ZYI Chairman, Murtala Abbas said the donation was in continuation of its efforts to bring succour to the less privileged in the society.
Abbas added the donation was meant to make the beneficiaries have hope despite the problems that made flee from their respective homes and be taking shelter somewhere not their original home.
The ZYI Chairman explained the donation was not the the first to be provided as the ZYI have in the past two years being carrying out different kind of outreach programmes to contribute our quota to human development in the state.
“Our philanthropic activities encompass various sections of the societal development in which areas includes Education, Health, Charity outreach, Social Media and Sports,” he said.
He said the aims of the ZYI includes to create a platform where youths can participate fully in developing their various communities and also train the youths on human capacity building to enable the youths become self dependent to benefit the society.
Over 60 IDPs got food items while about 50 got clothes.
