A set of conjoined twins (females) have been successfully seperated at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Keffi.
The operation which took place on Friday, in Keffi, lasted for 9 hours.
A statement signed by the Hospital’s Head of Public Relations Unit, Mohammed Adamu, and made available to newsmen on Monday, said the surgery was undertaken by 55 Doctors with diverse specialties under the able leadership of Dr. Charles Soo, a reputable Consultant (Paediatrics Surgeon).
As at the time of filing this report, the babies were healthly and were seen playing with their toys at the intensive care unit of the Hospital.
The management of the Hospital expressed appreciation for the Honourable Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, Minister of State for Health, Dr O. Mamora, the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State Engr Abdullahi A. Sule and the Governing Board (FMC, Keffi) for their support.
The Management also to appreciate the team and the entire staff for their efforts.
