Oyo State confirmed COVID-19 Positive Cases Now 1,689 – Gov Makinde


*says 85 new cases recorded, 91 discharged.

Oyo State Governor and Chairman of the state COVID-19 Task Force, Engineer Seyi Makinde on Saturday said number of confirmed CoronaVirus positive cases so far recorded in the state is now 1,689 .
Governor Makinde who stated this in the Oyo State COVID-19 update he posted on his Tweeter handle page announced that the state  has recorded 85 new CoronaVirus positive cases.

The governor in the update on COVID-19 situation pointed out that the state Task Force  has discharged 91Coronavirus  patients.
According to Governor Makinde,  the 91 patients were discharged after  receiving their second negative test results, and that ” this brings the number of discharged cases in Oyo State to 925.”
He maintained that the COVID-19 confirmation tests for the 85 suspected cases came back positive ” from Ibadan N (17), Ibadan SW (13), Oyo E (9), Ido (8), Lagelu (7), Oluyole (6), Orelope (3), Akinyele (3), Egbeda (3), Ibadan NE (3), Ona Ara (2), Atiba (2), Ogbomosho S (2), Iseyin (2), Ibadan SE (1), Ogbomosho N (1), Oyo W (1), Ibadan NW (1) & Ibarapa C (1) local government areas of the state”
The governor then urged the people of the state particularly those with symptoms relating to COVID 19 to go for test at designated test centres in and across the state.
