EFCC: Court Sentences 3 Internet Fraudsters To 24 Months Imprisonment In Ibadan

Three internet fraudsters were on Wednesday and Thursday this week convicted by the Federal High court sitting in Ibadan.

The three internet fraudsters were arraigned before the court by the Ibadan Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC).

Justice Patricia Ajoku of the Federal High Court, Ibadan, convicted  the internet fraudsters identified asTemitope Joel Adepoju and Toba Agbanah.

Justice Ajoku in his judgement handed Adepoju 8 months imprisonment for one-count of criminal impersonation, and as well ordered that he forfeits $2,775 (Two Thousand, Seven Hundred and Seventy-Five United States Dollars) and all items recovered from him to the Federal government.

 The judge sentenced Agbanah to 6 months imprisonment for one-count charge of the same offence.

Apart from the jail term, Agbanah was also ordered to restitute a total sum of N12,104,753.93k (Twelve Million, One Hundred and Four Thousand, Seven Hundred and Fifty-Three Naira, Ninety-Three kobo) to his victims and to forfeit his laptops, expensive phones, electronics to the Federal government.

Justice Joyce Malik of the Federal High Court, Ibadan Division, also convicted and sentenced Yomi Rilwan Olasupo to 10 months imprisonment after finding him guilty of fraudulent impersonation, leveled against him by the Commission’s Ibadan Zonal Office
