The arrest of four suspected notorious traffic robbers by police operatives in Lagos has led to the recovery of 36 stolen phones from them, New Nigerian Newspapers has learnt.
Our correspondent gathered that the quadruplets are specialists in robbing their victims of their valuables under gun point during traffic gridlock.
It was learnt that they were arrested by operatives attached to Area “B” Command, Apapa following credible intelligence operation.
Three of the suspects were said to have been apprehended at a hotel named Big Been Hotel, off old Ojo road, Apapa, while one of them identified as Chima Christopher was nabbed at Aiyemiru street, Okoya,old Ojo road, Olodi Apapa.
Aged 25 years, Chima, who was arrested on 29th June 2020, according to report led the operatives to the hideout of the others at the hotel.
The Lagos State Police Commissioner Hakeem Odumosu confirmed the report to newsmen at a release.
His words, ” On 29th June, 2020 following a credible intelligence, operatives from Area B Command, Apapa arrested one chima Christopher ‘m’ 25years old of Aiyemiru Street, Okoyo old Ojo road, Olodi Apapa.
The suspect specialize in robbing people of their phones during traffic gridlock.
Investigation was extended to Big Ben Hotel off old Ojo road Apapa where three additional suspects were arrested.
They are Azeez Sulaimon 24 years old; Shakiru Oke 25 years old; and Yusuf Ganiu 25 years old.
They were arrested with 36 different brand of phones suspected to have been stolen from different victims around Mile 2, Oshodi, Ijora ,Case Way, Eko bridge and environs”.
Odumosu added that the suspects will be charged to Court.
