The Federal Government of Nigeria has been called upon to enact a law that would regulate incescent felling of trees in the country in order to meet the global policy on agro forestry as seen in other developed nations.

In a press statement from Agro Forestry Development Association  signed by the group's chairman, Malam Sulaiman Umar, issued to our correspondent in Kano, the group warned that the increase of the felling of trees in Nigeria is worrisome, therefore it is important to establish a law that would regulate felling of trees with immediate effect.

Furthermore, the group of foresters advised agro forestry stakeholders and other top ranking  officials to suggest ways of restoring  national plantations in order to promote tourism to boost the nation's economy.
