The National Cotton Association of Nigeria (NACOTAN) Zamfara State chapter has assured of improved economy through ongoing cotton farming of the Anchor Borrowers’ Programme of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
A statement by the association’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Bashir Kabiru Ahmad said the assurance was given by the chairman of NACOTAN in Zamfara State, Alhaji Sani Dahiru Gusau during a meeting with the 14 Local Government Coordinators of the association in Gusau on Monday.
The NACOTAN chairman describes Cotton Farming Programme of the Federal Government as critical impetus to massive employment and economic growth hence the need for farmers to support the programme through effective utilisation of the inputs to be given to them.
He commended the Federal Government for committing colossal amount of money to improve agricultural sector particularly cotton farming this year.
Gusau expresses optimism about this year’s Wet Season Farming season and therefore solicited the support of the local government coordinators on the programme with a view to emerging best in the 2020 wet season loan recovery which is paid with the cotton products.
