Construction of 3,600 Housing Units Begins In Yobe

Following the foundation laying ceremony of 3,600 housing units by Governor Mai Mala Buni to ease accommodation hardship on the citizens on 9th of September 2019, New Nigerian Newspaper visited one of the project sites along Gujba road where construction work has already commenced.

It would be recalled that on Monday September 9, 2019, Governor Mai Mala Buni laid the foundation of 3,600 housing units to be built in the 17 local government areas of the state.

The houses which comprises of 2bedrooms and 3bedrooms apartments with facilities such as schools, places of worship, police out posts and fire station, is expected to be completed in 18 months.

The houses would be built in partnership with federal ministry of finance, founded by Family Homes Funds limited.

The initiative is designed to advance the objective of his administration towards providing shelter to the people of the state.

Against this development, New Nigerian Newspapers visited one of the projects site and spoke with the project supervisor of Kaizuwa investment limited Architect Muhammad Zaiyad on the level of work so far achieved.

Muhammad Zaiyad explained that, they have since commenced construction work and assured to justify the confidence reposed on them by the state government to complete the work as contained in the contractual agreement in 18 months.

According to him, one hundred and seventy five housing units was awarded to Kaizuwa investment limited and the first phase of 13 houses are now under construction.

He assured Yobe State Government of qualitative work as contained in the contractual specification.
